Pope Francis' doctor does not recommend him to come to Kyiv or Moscow in the near future due to a knee injury.

This was stated by the Pope in an interview with CNN Portuga, Suspilne reports.

Despite this, the Pope made clear that he is doing everything possible to end the conflict in Ukraine, being in constant contact with Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin.

"I am not yet certain about the visit. Tomorrow, I will have a phone conversation with President Zelensky. We will see how it goes," the Pope said.

Pope Francis has assured that he will not make any trips, at least not before his visit to Kazakhstan, which is scheduled for September 13-15.

"I can't make a visit now because after the trip to Canada, the situation with the knee joint got a little worse, and my doctor advised me against traveling," the pontiff added.
