President Viktor Yanukovych attended a festive Easter Service at the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

KYIV – President Viktor Yanukovych attended a festive Easter Service at the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

Among those who came to the service were the Supreme Council’s Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, Chief of the Presidential Administration Staff Serhii Liovochkin, Cabinet members, and MPs, reports the presidential website.

At the beginning of the service conducted by the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr, Viktor Yanukovych took part in a religious procession around the Holy Assumption Cathedral.

Metropolitan Volodymyr handed over to President Yanukovych a lamp with the Holy Fire.

After the service Viktor Yanukovych briefly talked to the congregation and congratulated them on Easter.
