President Awards Metropolitan of Cherkasy of UOC-MP 200-Year-Old Bible

The head of the Regional State Administration of Cherkasy greeted Metropolitan Sofronii of Cherkasy and Kaniv of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-MP and awarded him with a 200-year-old edition of the Bible on behalf of President Yanukovych.

CHERKASY – The head of the Regional State Administration of the eastern Ukrainian city of Cherkasy, Serhii Tulub, greeted Metropolitan Sofronii of Cherkasy and Kaniv of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate and awarded him with a 200-year-old edition of the Bible on behalf of President Yanukovych.

According to the press service of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration,  the metropolitan was also awarded with a letter of gratitude from the regional state administration and a medal "For special merits before the Cherkasy region."

"I am happy that the first days of my work as the head of the regional state administration coincided with such an important event for all the laymen of the region as the anniversary of our Metropolitan Sofronii of Cherkasy and Kaniv," said Tulub.
