Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree to award Metropolitan Ilarion (Roman Shukalo) of Donetsk and Mariupol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate with the Order “For Merits” of the 1st degree.

Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree to award Metropolitan Ilarion (Roman Shukalo) of Donetsk and Mariupol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate with the Order “For Merits” of the 1st degree.

The decree has been posted by the presidential web siteIlarion-Shukalo.jpg. The award is presented to the hierarch for his considerable contribution to the establishment of the ideals of humanism and charity in the society and many years of selfless work.
