President Yanukovych and President Medvedev Pray at Kyiv Cave Monastery

President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the Cathedral of the Dormition at the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

KYIV – President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the Cathedral of the Dormition at the Kyiv Cave Monastery, reports the website of Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP).

There, the two presidents took part in the mass conducted by Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate.

The metropolitan presented to President Medvedev a copy of the Peresopnytsia Gospel and an icon, and in return received an icon from the Russian president.

After the service the metropolitan addressed the officials with an exhortation, after which they bowed to the Icon of the Assumption of the Mother of God and to the relics of the saints in the caves.
