The price of an entry ticket to the Kyiv Cave Historic and Cultural Reserve has been lowered from UAH 50 to 3.

According to a report of the press service of the Ukrainian government, the price was reduced “thanks to a personal interference of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov who was indignant at the price policy of the leadership of the Kyiv Cave Reserve.”

The prime minister instructed the administration of the reserve to consider urgently the question of a considerable reduction of the price of the tickets.

According to Azarov, the Kyiv Cave Reserve is a historic monument of national significance and not an “excursion bureau openly profiting from believers and tourists.”

According to the report, the prime minister stressed that “it is not quite clear how and what the budget funds are spent for” and that the situation regarding the leadership of the reserve “is beyond common sense.”
