The Public Council of the Ministry of Education and Science on matters of cooperation with churches and religious organizations on December 14 held a meeting to analyze the results of its activity in 2011.
All those present recognized the work of the council as excellent and noticed its professionalism and non-involvement in the political processes. We voted separately for each decision. And we did not argue on any item. This unanimity was shown by everyone without exception, the Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants,” a UGCC representative in the council, Fr. Roman Nebozhuk, told RISU.
The participants heard reports as to how the teaching of spiritual and moral subjects is ensured in general education schools. It was noted that a program of the “Christian Ethic” for pupils of 1-11 grades has been approved, and the Ministry of Education jointly with representatives of Ukrainian denominations ensured providing of training for the teachers of this discipline.
