Clergymen of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine may meet in Germany with representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church at the assembly of the World Council of Churches.

This is reported by Bild, according to Liga.News.

The event will be held in Karlsruhe from August 31 to September 8, and meetings are planned to be attended by delegations from both sides, said Mark Witzenbacher, head of the assembly's Coordination Bureau.

Baden evangelical bishop Heike Springhart hopes that the General Assembly will be a sign of unity, reconciliation and peace.

LIGA.net asked the OCU for a comment but has not yet received a response.
