After being evicted from the Assumption Cathedral on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate took all the icons that decorated the church's interior.

This was reported by the correspondent of Ukrainian News.

In particular, icons that used to decorate the cathedral's walls are gone.

The walls are bare, and about ten icons that used to decorate them, disappeared. Moreover, there is not a single candlestick left in the cathedral, while the iconostasis was untouched.

Also, the UOC-MP left the monument to the Count of the Russian Empire, statesman of the Russian Federation, commander, General-Field Marshal Pyotr Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky.

He distinguished himself in the Seven Years' War of 1756-1763, especially as an army commander in the Russian-Turkish wars of 1768-1774 (the battles of Larza and Kagul) and 1787-1792.

In 1764, he was appointed president of the Little Russian Collegium and governor-general of Left Bank Ukraine.

As reported previously, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reported that the lease agreements of the Assumption Cathedral and the Tabernacle Church between the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UPC-MP) were not extended due to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated December 1, 2022.
