Roman and Greek Catholic Bishops of Ukraine to Hold Joint Meeting

The 9th session of the bishops of the two rites in Ukraine will be held with the participation of the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Thomas Gullickson, on October 26.

A joint retreat for bishops of the Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic Churches in Ukraine began on October 23 in Lviv-Briukhovychi. It is conducted by a Jesuit Fr. Marko Rupnik.

“The main theme of the retreat is the presence of the Lord God in religion and our faith on the basis of the Holy Scripture. The exercise is concrete and solid,” noted the ordinary of Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese, Archbishop Petro Malchuk.

The spiritual exercises will last until October 26. After that, the 9th session of the bishops of the two rites in Ukraine will be held with the participation of the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Thomas Gullickson.

On October 27-28, the 36th session of the Conference of Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine is to be held, the Catholic Media Center reported.
