On Holy Wednesday, March 23, Roman Catholics held the traditional Way of the Cross in Lviv, led by Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki.

On Holy Wednesday, March 23, Roman Catholics held the traditional Way of the Cross in Lviv, led by Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki.

Following the Holy Mass held at metropolitan Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary more than 4,000 faithful passed through the Market Square, and then alongRuska, Virmenska, Vinnychenko streets  to the Metropolitan Curia and from there to the Sanctuary of St Anthony.

Participants prayed in two languages ​​- Polish and Ukrainian. The theme this year’s recollections was the Mercy of God in human life.

In conclusion, Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki thanked the Franciscan Fathers and St. Anthony parish, who spiritually prepared the Way of the Cross, and thanked the police for security during the common prayer. It was reported by the official website of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine.
