The Russian authorities in Crimea intend to transfer the Cathedral of Saints Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr and Princess Olha of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Simferopol under the conditions of "free use."
This was stated by Yevgeniya Dobrynya, the head of the property and land relations committee of the Russian Parliament in Crimea, according to the Russian publication "RIA Novosti Crimea," as reported by "Krym.realii".
"I think it will be an agreement of free use. In any case, it will be legalized relations with the state, based on which the property will be transferred and used in accordance with the current legislation," Dobrynya said.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Property and Land Relations in Crimea stated that the seizure of the Cathedral of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Simferopol was taking place "on legal grounds."
Recall that on May 11, the seizure of the Cathedral of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine took place in Simferopol.
In February 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a decision to transfer the property of the Cathedral of Saints Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr and Princess Olha in Simferopol to state ownership.
In August 2020, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) addressed the Russian authorities regarding the oppression of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Crimea. The Russian authorities claim that there is no oppression based on religious grounds in Crimea.
