SBU institute a case because of the "Mother Russia" chant in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

The Security Service has instituted criminal proceedings on the incident that occurred on November 12 in one of the churches of the National Reserve of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. There, on the 262nd day of the full-scale Russian invasion, they sang about Russia's awakening.

The press service of the SBU reported the opening of the case on November 15.

The investigation is carried out under Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants.

Now all materials have been submitted for appropriate examinations.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the main Department of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's office.
