On March 31st, the confrontation on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra escalated into pushing and small clashes as activists arrived to declare their pro-Ukrainian position.
The supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate, who had been in the monastery for several days, reacted aggressively, according to reports from Gazeta.ua.
Law enforcement officers managed to prevent the situation from escalating and safely removed the activists from the territory.
As of 12:39, the Commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, which was tasked with the acceptance and transfer of state property, was unable to enter the premises of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, as representatives of the UOC-MP did not allow them to enter. Consequently, the commission members were forced to leave.
Meanwhile, there has been a growing presence of people near the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, as many Kyiv residents come to support the eviction of the Russian church from the reserve.
