Shmygal invites the Pope to Ukraine on behalf of Zelensky

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal invited Pope Francis to visit Ukraine.

They discussed issues of humanitarian aid and the development of bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

Shmygal thanked the Vatican for the Humanitarian Initiative "Pope for Ukraine" in the amount of €16 million. Within its borders, more than 900 thousand Ukrainians received humanitarian aid.

The parties discussed the pandemic. They noted the importance of vaccination and cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Bambino Gesu children's pediatric hospital.

The prime minister conveyed the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit Ukraine on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence.
