On March 14, the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross of the Lord in Wrocław hosted the official inauguration of the "Braterstwo" ("Brotherhood") Foundation of the Diocese of Wrocław-Koszalin. The event brought together clergy, faithful representatives of state institutions, and guests, all of whom joined in prayer for a successful start to the activities of the newly established organization.
This was reported by the UGCC Department for Information.
The inauguration ceremonies commenced with the Divine Liturgy, which was presided over by Bishop Volodymyr Yushchak, accompanied by Auxiliary Bishop Mariusz Dmyterko and the clergy of the diocese.
Bishop Volodymyr emphasized that, in today’s world, there are numerous opportunities to help others, but we do not always take advantage of them. Thus, the establishment of the Foundation is “an attempt to unlock the opportunities and gifts we possess.”
Following the Divine Liturgy, the inauguration ceremony continued in the Hoggberg Chapel. Bishop Volodymyr Yushchak delivered the opening remarks, outlining the Foundation’s primary goals and areas of focus. He highlighted that its mission is to serve people, support those in need, and foster mutual understanding and integration among different communities.
Following this, Foundation President Iwona Marciszak delivered a speech discussing the organization's current initiatives and future development plans. In response, the Foundation's Vice President, Fr. Mateusz Demeniuk, emphasized the importance of expanding the Foundation's activities throughout the entire diocese.
There are also plans to establish Foundation branches in various cities where Greek Catholic parishes are active, enabling the organization to extend its outreach and effectively assist local communities.
The Brotherhood Foundation is dedicated to helping those in need, regardless of their origin or religious affiliation. The Foundation promotes social integration and focuses on preserving and developing the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Poland.
