Special Commission sent to Uman to deal with the issue of Hasidim and the epidemic

A special commission will be sent to Uman to assess the epidemiological situation in the city, as well as to resolve the situation with the spread of COVID-19 and Hasidic pilgrimage.

According to Jewishnews, this information was announced by Andriy Dikun, a candidate for the post of head of the Uman amalgamated territorial community, on his Facebook page.

As Dikun noted, he spoke with the President of Ukraine on the issue of Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman.

On August 31, a meeting under the guidance of Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office, was held in Kyiv. At this meeting, it was decided to send a special commission to Uman immediately.

This Commission will assess the entire situation and decide on how to ensure the safety of all Uman residents.

At the same time, the mayor of Uman, Oleksandr Tsebriy, said that Viktor Lyashko, the chief public health physician of Ukraine, is expected to visit Uman.
