The worship service started late, at 23:00, as the detachment which is sent to the East had to go undercover. The UOC-KP clergymen had a conversation with the soldiers, and then they prayed together. The commander of the unit separately asked to bless the car they had to drive, for their lives will depend on it.

“Even when you're in a war zone where every day is hard, do not forget about unity. Support each other, take care not only of yourselves, for together you are the power. Set off with God and remember that truth is on our side, because we protect our land”, Fr. Serhiy addressed the soldiers.

The blessing of battalions going to the East has already become traditional for the capital. Usually they are held either at Maidan or in the square near St. Sophia, from which they set off to the war zone.
