The Holy Synod of the UOC-MP, which met on August 17 in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, decided to appoint new governors of the Dioceses Luhansk and Rovenky.

This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC-MP.

On June 18, 2021, Metropolitan Mytrofan of Luhansk and Alchevsk, head of the Department for External Church Relations and permanent member of the Holy Synod, passed away to the Lord.

Metropolitan Panteleimon of Rovenky and Sverdlovsk has been appointed as the new administrator of the Diocese of Luhansk.

The Diocese of Rovenky will be further headed by Archbishop Arkady of Ovidiopol, who was previously Vicar of the Diocese of Odessa.

As you know, Metropolitan Panteleimon was included in the database of the Myrotvorets center as an accomplice of terrorists.

Panteleimon (Vasyl Povoroznyuk), the website notes, is “an active participant in events under the patronage of the LPR terrorist organization, an organizer of pilgrimage trips to Russia.”

Metropolitan Panteleimon also "denies Russian aggression and manipulates socially important information.”
