Synod of UOC-MP Appoints Native of Galicia Head of Kharkiv Eparchy

According to a decision of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Archbishop Onufrii (Lehkyi) was appointed head of the Kharkiv and Bogodukhiv Eparchy of UOC-MP.

According to a decision of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Archbishop Onufrii (Lehkyi) was appointed head of the Kharkiv and Bogodukhiv Eparchy of UOC-MP, reported the eparchial web site. Archbishop Onufrii served as the Vicar of the Kharkiv Eparchy. Archbishop Onufrii (Oleh Lehkyi) was born in the town of Khodoriv of Lviv Region on 27 March, 1970. In 1987, he left school in the town.

Let us remind that on 15 September, 2011, Metropolitan Nykodym (Rusnak) of Kharkiv and Bogodukhiv passed away and Archbishop Onufrii of Iziumsk was appointed acting head of the eparchy.
