A cooperation agreement between All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was signed on August 25, 2021. The Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatoslav called this event a historical one. Serhiy Shkarlet, minister for education was the one to sign the document on behalf of the Ministry.

The Head of the UGCC noted that the agreement between AUCCRO and MES which contains principles and values to build educational system in Ukraine is binding to both sides. He also added that collaboration with line ministries which are in charge of different spectrums of people’s life is an integral part of work of AUCCRO.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized that a moral and integral part of upbringing of future generations is a priority for collaboration between the state and the Church. Particularly it touches a moment of defending family values which are challenged greatly by the modern world.

“The agreement which we signed aims exactly at reaching valuable upbringing of children, care for their moral health and family values, so young people are able to create their own families and be happy”.

“For this reason it is essential for public education to involve an integral part – respect of human dignity, family, family relations in love. In other words, the purpose of our education means not just to deliver information, but bring up too”, His Beatitude Sviatoslav outlined.
