The General Administration of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph the Betrothed of the Blessed Virgin Mary, headed by the Chief Superior, Sr. Markiana Vasylyshyn, met with His Beatitude Sviatoslav on December 19.

The meeting was held at the residence of the Head of the UGCC in Kyiv.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his sincere gratitude to the sisters for their dedicated service and activities in different regions of Ukraine, in particular in Cherkasy, Kharkiv and Yuzhnoukrainsk.
He also remembered Fr. Cyril Seletsky, the founder of the Congregation, emphasizing the importance of knowing about his legacy not only in Ukraine but also in the whole world. The patriarch expressed his support and praised the sisters' mission in serving the church and society.
One of the key pieces of advice given by His Beatitude Sviatoslav was to value the sisters as individuals.
The head of the UGCC especially noted the work of the Sisters of Saskatoon (Canada), who work with the elderly, saving lives in places where euthanasia is legalized.
