On Sunday, August 4, at the end of the XII All-Ukrainian Patriarchal Pilgrimage to the Halych Miraculous Icon of the Mother of God, the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, together with the bishops of the UGCC, met with the families of the fallen and missing Heroes of Ukraine and blessed 6 cars for Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.
Right after the Liturgy, which became the culminating part of the pilgrimage, His Beatitude Sviatoslav and 16 bishops from different parts of Ukraine met with the families of the fallen and missing Ukrainian defenders from the Carpathian region.
While addressing the parents, wives and children of the Heroes of Ukraine, the Patriarch expressed his sincere gratitude on behalf of the entire Ukrainian people and assured them of the constant prayerful care of the clergy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
Afterwards, the Primate bestowed the archbishop's blessing upon the participants.
As a result, six vehicles were consecrated for the needs of the Armed Forces and civilian infrastructure.
For the constant support of the Ukrainian people and the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy of the UGCC expresses its sincere gratitude to the operational rescue service of Rome (Italy) "ROE-RAGGRUPPAMENTO OPERATIVO EMERGENZE COLONNA MOBILE NAZIONALE PROTEZIONE CIVILE", the public organization "UCRAINI IRPINI A. P. S." Avellino (Italy), the priest and faithful of the community of the Holy Martyr Josaphat of the UGCC from Milan (Italy), the Humanitarian Anti-Crisis Coordination Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy of the UGCC and the Misericordia Charitable Foundation of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchial Administration, the UGCC community of Setubal and Montijo (Portugal) and Galician volunteers.
After the consecration, the Patriarch blessed the Ukrainian soldiers and thanked them for their service in defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
