Expressing support for the arrested Pavlo (Lebid), the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) issued a peculiar statement. He backed the arrested former rector of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavlo (Lebid), with ambiguous words, implying that he is not worthy of being held in custody, and may God help him now. This statement was made in his video address.

"Dear Vladyka Pavlo, we have heard rumors that you have been placed in custody, and we received this news with sorrow and regret, but I know that you are a good monk, a good hierarch, a good representative of the Holy Lavra of the Kyiv Caves," said Metropolitan Onufriy.
In his opinion, the arrest of Petro Lebid is a misunderstanding, and supposedly people understand this.
"You are not deserving of this, to be held in custody, but I wish that the Lord strengthens you, gives you strength, and this will end. You will be free, and we will pray and glorify God together again," continued the head of the UOC-MP.
It should be noted that the statement implies that Metropolitan Pavlo is seen as not deserving to be in custody.
Finally, Metropolitan Onufriy wished Pavlo (Lebid) "God's help."
