Metropolitan Mykhailo of Lutsk and Volyn of the OCU calls on the clergy and faithful of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to sign a petition to deprive Muscovy of the right to be on the United Nations Security Council.

This is reported on the website of the Volyn Diocese of the OCU, reports "Volyn Online".

As you know, among the founders of the UN was the USSR. As a nuclear power, it became a member of the Security Council with the right to veto. But after the collapse of the USSR, the Muscovites did not submit documents in accordance with the established procedure stating that they are the legal successors of the Soviet Union. Therefore, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN declares that the aggressor's stay in this organization is illegitimate. Moreover, his presence in the UN Security Council is illegal: a terrorist country abuses the right of veto.

The head of the diocese notes: "In this sense, the UN loses its functionality because you can veto it and you can't solve anything. Our argument is that the aggressor cannot have the right of veto. Otherwise, the democratic foundations will be distorted."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has issued a statement regarding the illegitimacy of Russia's presence in the UN Security Council and the United Nations as a whole. However, the UN has not yet completely lost its fear of Muscovy, so there is still little support for the Ukrainian initiative in it.

Therefore, we launched a large-scale information campaign, "down with Russia from the UN!» #unrussiaUN. The website has an evidence base and other materials, and on the online platform change.org a corresponding petition has been posted. It has already been signed by more than 250 thousand people.

Thus, Metropolitan Mykhailo calls on all Orthodox believers to post a signature at the above-mentioned link.
