The President of Ukraine thanks Patriarch Bartholomew “for spiritual support of Ukraine”

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, on Christmas Eve, he spoke with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and thanked him “for his spiritual support of Ukraine and prayers for the Ukrainian people.”

The President of Ukraine announced this on the X network (formerly Twitter), Voice of America reports.

“We appreciate the efforts of the Patriarchate to strengthen support for Ukraine in the global religious community and its contribution to the spiritual independence of our nation,” President Zelensky wrote.

He added, “Ukraine is doing everything to make 2025 a year of just and lasting peace for our country and the whole world.”

According to the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Patriarch Bartholomew congratulated the Ukrainian people on Christmas and wished them strength, courage, and God's blessing.
