Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All-Ukraine of the OCU held a divine service on the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation in the Tabernacle Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

"Dear brothers and sisters! I heartily congratulate you on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. This holiday is the only one of the 12 great holidays of the church year, which, according to the statute, is both of the Mother of God and the Lord," said the Primate of the OCU.
In his sermon, Metropolitan Epifaniy called for February 24 to be spent in prayer for the living and fallen defenders of Ukraine, for soldiers and civilians who suffered and continue to suffer from "the onslaught of the evil Russian empire."
"The anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine is approaching, the anniversary of the great war for the freedom of our homeland. As Christians, we should meet this day with prayer and fasting. Therefore, I bless everyone praying for our soldiers, for the triumph of truth and just peace for Ukraine," Metropolitan Epifaniy emphasized.
