The Synod of Bishops of the UGCC ended with a prayer for Ukraine

The 2022 Synod of Bishops of the UGCC called “Synodality and catholicity: the experience of the UGCC” ended with a prayer for Ukraine in Przemyśl (Poland).

After the last working session on Friday, July 15, the bishops moved in a procession from the synodal meeting room to the chapel, where they prayed for Ukraine, singing the prayer-hymn “God the Great One.”

Traditionally, the youngest bishops carried the candle and the Holy Gospel. This year they are Bishop Arkadiusz Trochanowski, bishop of the Olsztyn-Gdańsk Eparchy, Bishop Mykola Bychok, Bishop of the Melbourne Eparchy of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and Bishop Stepan Sus, Bishop of the Curia of the UGCC Supreme Archdiocese.

In total, 40 bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church from Ukraine, Central and Western Europe, North and South America, Australia and invited guests took part in the Synod.

The official communique and resolutions of Synod of Bishops of the UGCC in 2022, held in Przemyśl (Poland) on July 7-15, will be published later.
