This day symbolizes invincibility and steadfastness of our spirit, faith in freedom and independence — Statement of the UCCRO

22 January, 15:30

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations greeted Ukrainians on the Day of Unity and the 105th anniversary of the proclamation of the Act of Union of the UNR and the ZUNR (The West Ukrainian People's Republic).

"Congratulations to all citizens of our homeland on the Day of Ukraine's Unity and the proclamation of the Act of Union of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic in a united, united, Ukrainian state, which we celebrate for the 105th time. We, representatives of the religious community of Ukraine, call on everyone to remember the important lessons of history," the Statement of the UCCRO reads.

This day is a symbol of the invincibility and steadfastness of our spirit, faith in freedom and independence. The culmination of centuries-long aspirations of the Ukrainian people to live in their independent, free, and united state. This special holiday not only reminds us of the unbreakable unity of all Ukrainian lands in an independent free state but also symbolizes the unity of Ukrainians in the diversity of thoughts, views, and approaches to shaping our future.

In these solemn moments, we remember all those who fought and continue to fight with weapons in hand for Ukraine's right to self-determination. They have shown and continue to show that the true strength of the people is their unity, faith, and will to win. Their heroism and sacrifice inspire us and urge us to fully contribute to the victory for the sake of the triumph of this noble societal aspiration — the preservation and strengthening of our free state, where, united, we can fully realize our God-given talents, abilities, and vocations. This self-sacrifice, including, is a solemn call to parties, movements, to all politicians not to exacerbate internal contradictions but to unite efforts to save many lives and for the sake of the future of Ukraine.

We, members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, diverse in our confessional, religious, and even ethnic affiliations, call on all believers of our United State to pray for liberation from foreign aggression and hostile occupation, for a just peace, unity, mutual understanding, and a dignified future for the people of Ukraine!

Let us preserve and pass on to future generations the memory of the events that were a step towards a free and independent Ukraine. May our collective prayer be a support for the entire Ukrainian people in their pursuit of peace, justice, and dignity. May the divine blessing accompany all of us in our good deeds and thoughts.

Great God, the Only One, save Ukraine!
