The Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine and the Kyivan community of the Roman Catholic Church joined the world prayer for peace in Ukraine on Wednesday, January 26.

A prayer service led by the nuncio was held in the Church of St. Alexander in Kyiv. Bishop Joseph Milyan, assistant bishop of the Archdiocese of Kyiv, UGCC, also took part in the service.
In his speech, Archbishop Viswaldas Kulbokas noted that the disciples of Jesus Christ can bring neither war nor violence. If something like this happens, it means that these individuals or groups of people cannot call themselves Christians.
In other words, our mission – to be peacemakers and peacemakers – remains urgent and urgent.
"As Christians, we know very well that Jesus' main concern is to convert minds and hearts. Human peace is always temporary, and the conversion of hearts, that is, humility, respect and brotherhood, remains forever," said the Apostolic Nuncio.
"As we pray for peace, we ask the Lord to forgive the sins not only of us, but also of all our brothers and sisters, including political leaders – the sins of pride, schism, and aggression," Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas said. O Lord, turn my heart and my brothers' hearts so that each of us can help each other with our hearts and minds, and not incite hostility and military actions.
