In Chernivtsi, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate held celebratory events on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the revival of Ukrainian Orthodoxy in Bukovyna.

As RISU learned from Marian Lazarchuk, in his address to the faithful during the consecration of the cornerstone of a future memorial sign commemorating the first Ukrainian-language liturgy served in Chernivtsi, Metropolitan Danylo (Kovalchuk) of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna of UOC-KP noted: "This memorial stone will enjoy eternity both on earth and in the Lord. And as long as the sun shines the stone will remind the faithful of the great sacred event. Someone can defile the stone but the Lord is above us all. Let me greet you, dear residents of Bukovyna and Chernivtsi, on the occasion of this great twentieth anniversary. Let God allow Chernivtsi residents to celebrate this date twenty times multiplied by many times."

The events ended with a concert of spiritual music in the Summer Theater.
