UGCC to pray for the Catholic priests and bishops who died because of COVID-19

With the blessing of Metropolitan Igor of Lviv, on Lazarus Saturday (before Palm Sunday), a memorial service for the souls of all Catholic priests and bishops of the world who passed away to eternity through diseases caused by coronavirus will be held in the churches of the Archdiocese of Lviv.

As RISU has reported, on April 6, UGCC priest Oleg Vinnitsky, who was the first recorded patient of COVID-19 in Ternopil region, died. He was only 56 years old.

In the United States, Bishop Stefan Sulyk died at the age of 96 through COVID–19.

At least 50 priests died in Italy through coronavirus

In the city of Parma, 13 members of Xaverian Missionaries died from coronavirus in five days. Through the coronavirus, their house is closed and cut off from the world.
