Ukraine also joined the European Union's sanctions against the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations. Countries will ensure that their national policies comply with this EU Council's decision. The Council of Europe extended the sanctions until October 31, 2021.

North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Iceland and Liechtenstein, joined these sanctions. The sanctions were also supported by Moldova, Armenia and Georgia.
The report says that the sanctions provide for restrictions on the trade or supply of any weapons, military or dual-use goods, spare parts for them, and any technical assistance in their maintenance to such terrorist entities. Trade-in oil and petroleum products, as well as any form of financial support, including loans and credits, is also prohibited.
