Ukraine Prepares 97 Tourist Routes
Ukraine has prepared 97 tourist routes for foreign guests during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship. The routes include over 825 sites of historical, national, or cultural importance, the Kyiv Post reports.
The Ukraine 2012 Information Center, referring to the Ukrainian Tourism and Culture Ministry, said that there would be some 36 tourist routes through 264 sites in Kyiv, 30 routes in Lviv (328 sites), 13 in Kharkiv (146 sites), and 18 in Donetsk (87 sites).
The routes have been published in guidebooks, booklets and catalogues, which will be distributed at Ukrainian and international exhibitions within a year. In particular, tourism in Ukraine, as a host of the Euro 2012, will be presented in Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Russia, Kazakhstan and Poland.
Before the championship, the guidebooks and booklets will be also distributed at hotels, stadiums and other cities where guests of the championship will be accommodated.
In addition, a list of the routes has been posted on the Tourism and Culture Ministry's official website so that tourist agencies can prepare trips for guests in advance.
