Ukraine to Hold its First Ski Competition for Priests

The Blessed Josaphat Kotsylovsky Cup, a giant slalom ski competition for priests and students of educational institutions of the UGCC, will be held on February 28, 2013, at the Bukovel ski resort.

The Blessed Josaphat Kotsylovsky Cup, a giant slalom ski competition for priests and students of educational institutions of the UGCC, will be held on February 28, 2013, at the Bukovel ski resort. The organizers explain that the purpose of the competition is to promote a healthy lifestyle through the example of the clergy. The organizers of the event are the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolitanates and the Kolomyia and Chernivtsi Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and the Ukrainian Catholic University.

The competition will have three categories: for priests, for students (seminarians and laity), and for families (parents and children, couples, pairs).

Program

Day 1

-          Arrival of participants (about 5 p.m.)

-          Vespers

-          Dinner

-          Time for settling in and various activities

Day 2

9:00 – Liturgy

10:30 – Drawing of lots

11:00 – Beginning of competition

15:00 – End of competition. Awards ceremony.
