The operational headquarters of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for vaccine-controlled infections "equated" clergymen to social workers. Confessors can now get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the 2nd stage of vaccination, according to the roadmap.

"Recommend that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine "equate" ministers of officially registered churches and religious organizations in Ukraine with social workers," the minutes of the headquarters meeting say. This is reported by the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Fyodor Lapiy, chairman of the National Technical Group of experts on immunoprophylaxis, noted that such a step is necessary because clergymen are in close contact with people who belong to risk groups.

To sign up for vaccinations, confessors need to contact their management and inform them about their desire to get vaccinated. The same, in turn, will pass the lists to the vaccination coordinators in the region. After coordination with the coordinators, the managers will inform those interested about the time and place of vaccination.

Vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine began on February 24, 2021. It will be held in five stages. At the first stage, medical workers of covid hospitals, emergency teams, employees of laboratories testing for COVID-19, residents and staff of nursing homes and military personnel at the front are vaccinated.

On March 22, 2021, Ukraine launched the 2nd stage of vaccination against COVID-19. According to the roadmap, doctors of all health care institutions, social workers and people over the age of 80 were involved in the vaccination campaign. All vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge.
