The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) was represented at Viktor Yanukovych’s inauguration ceremony by the head of the UGCC, Patriarch Lubomyr, and the secretary of the Synod of Bishops of UGCC, Bishop Bohdan (Dziurakh).
According to the Information Department of UGCC, Patriarch Lubomyr previously sent a greeting address to Viktor Yanukovych, in which he assured the new president of prayer support as, according to him, the important tasks ahead of the President of Ukraine “can be fulfilled only with God’s help.”
“At the same time, we wish to do our best to participate by our diligent and just work in the development of our state for the common good of all our fellow-countrymen,” reads the address.
