On January 18-25, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church joined the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity held all over the world. The main theme and motto of this year’s prayer week are the words of the Prophet Micah “What does God require of us?” (Micah 6:6-8).
“The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has been held in the world since the end of 1930s. In Ukraine, this prayer will be held on Sunday, January 20, in the Church of St. Basil the Great of the UGCC, according to the program. Beginning at 6 p.m.,” reported Fr. Ihor Shaban.
On that day, an ecumenical prayer will be held with the participation of Patriarch Sviatoslav, Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine, Archbishop Thomas Edward Gullickson, clergymen of the Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Churches, the Information Department of the UGCC reported.
