On February 27 Muslim organizations Alraid and Ummah published a statement, in which they clearly declared their affiliation to Ukrainian society.
“In these circumstances, we declare that the Muslims of Ukraine are an integral and important part of Ukrainian society. We welcome the large-scale renewal processes that began in the country, because the nature and direction of this modernization coincide with the main principles and the most important values of our religion, Islam: justice, honesty, and respect for human rights, identity, ethnic and religious minorities. We call on all Muslims in our country to become actively involved in the creation of a new Ukraine, where there will be a decisive end to corruption and government irresponsibility and where the great principles of humanity will prevail,” reads the statement.
Muslims of Ukraine called today's events in Ukraine momentous and a turning point.
They sincerely hope that “the new leadership of Ukraine will pay constant attention to the improvement of church and state policy in order to ensure its effectiveness, create a capable and competent public authority to address religious issues, and promote the role of the Spiritual Directorates of Muslims in Ukraine in the state and society.”
