Ukrainian Roman Catholic Bishops urge to protect children and families

The rally is scheduled for June 4 in Kyiv and is aimed to draw attention to the problems of children's rights to assert in society the principles of love and respect, protect the family as a union of man and woman that meets the plan of God and human nature.

The Conference of Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine invites all people of good will to take part in interreligious procession for the rights of children and the family, which was initiated by the Council of Churches and religious organizations to protect the rights of children and families.

It was stated in the message published on the website of the Lviv archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine.


The rally is scheduled for June 4 in Kyiv and is aimed to draw attention to the problems of children's rights to assert in society the principles of love and respect, protect the family as a union of man and woman that meets the plan of God and human nature.


The participants will start gathering at 10:00 at Sophia Square, at 11:00 hours a unified file of families with children led by the heads of churches and religious organizations will march to the European square – to Volodymyrska street,  Bohdan Khmelnytsky avenue and Khreschchatyk. Passers-by will be able to voluntarily join the action and communicate with believers’ families.

 

Following the procession, at 12:00 on European Square, the members of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations will appeal to the assembly and pray for children and families. The concert performances of children's groups and families, children's art exhibition will be also held.


“Joining the AUCCRO the initiative, the Conference of Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine invites all people of good will, especially families with children, to participate in the procession to protect the rights of children and families,” the document says.
