Ihor Taburets, the Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, has urged Hasidic pilgrims not to visit Uman for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah festival in a month.
Cherkasy Regional State Administration (ODA) has provided this information.
Taburets recommended that pilgrims avoid visiting Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict, persistent shelling, and potential provocations from the occupying country.
"However, we understand that some believers, as they did last year, may still decide to come. Therefore, in collaboration with the municipal authorities, the security and defense sector, and all relevant services, we are already working preventively," he stated.
This topic has already been discussed during a meeting of the special commission, with the participation of the Deputy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Ms. Liron Finkelstein.
Security measures are already being coordinated and will be intensified, similar to what was done last year. Details will be provided later. Other aspects are also being addressed, including providing medical assistance, functioning of public dining establishments, work of communal services, anti-epidemic measures, and more. The safety of both the local population and the visitors remains the top priority.
