Another interim report of the UN Secretary-General on the human rights situation in Crimea has been released.
"The report records the continuing practices of illegal persecution of Crimeans, the use of torture for self-incrimination, the movement of illegally convicted persons to the territory of Russia, and the impunity of the Russian occupation authorities, including the FSB. Separately, there is a retrospective application of Russian legislation, in particular for attacking media freedom and depriving Crimeans of housing, in fact - one of the forms of forced change in the demographic composition of the Population, "First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzheparova said according to Gazeta.ua citing Krym. This report, as a follow-up to UN General Assembly resolution 75/192, will be presented during the forty-seventh session of the UN Human Rights Council, which begins its work on Monday.
Emine Dzheparova also recalled the attack on religious freedoms in Crimea, in particular, the persecution of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the peninsula.
"We continue to work with the international community to establish justice and restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine," Dzheparova said.
