Press-Secretary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate Archbishop Yevstraty (Zorya) urged everyone to pray for the health of the Patriarch of Constantinople.

Press-Secretary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate Archbishop Yevstraty (Zorya) urged everyone to pray for the health of the Patriarch of Constantinople.

“We are kindly asking you to pray for Patriarch Bartholomew’s health. It seems that the recent tensions, including the pressure he felt in connection with the decision to recognize the autocephaly of the Church in Ukraine, have had their effect...  On May 6-7, the 78-year-old Ecumenical Patriarch was hospitalized, the cause indicated is dizziness. After proper examination on May 7, the patriarch was discharged from the hospital,” the archbishop wrote on Facebook on May 9.

According to him, parishioners of the UOC-KP pray for the head of the Church of Constantinople, but “the prayers for health are never too much.”
