The Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) responded to the call of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate to pray for the recovery of its head, Metropolitan Volodymyr. So reported religion.in.ua.
“We took the words of the archbishop as a call to all the Orthodox,” explained the Secretary of the Synod of UOC-KP, Bishop Yevstratii (Zoria). He noted that as the head of one of the largest Church denominations in Ukraine, Metropolitan Volodymyr is of a special importance both for the Orthodox and secular Ukraine: “He is the central consolidating figure within UOC-MP where the tendencies of moving closer to Moscow and moving away from Moscow oppose each other.”
