Religious scholar Yuriy Chornomorets responded to the materials published by the UOC-MP on the topic: Who should join whom and who is more canonical.
"As to date the UOC-MP has released again materials about who should join whom and who is more canonical, I will tell briefly: the MP cannot be canonical in the territory of Ukraine. This is the canonical territory of the OCU — whichever problems occurred throughout the history with the hierarchy of the OCU, that was rehabilitated according to the appeal to the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the presence of the MP bodies in the territory of Ukraine today is a blatant violation of the canonical order," he wrote on his Facebook page.
Yuriy Chornomorets advises "it is better to start a constructive dialogue, as the last appeal of the OCU Synod calls for it: from among the Moscow hierarchs to move to the set of Ukrainian, uniting and developing a single canonical Ukrainian Church for all Orthodox faithful of Ukraine".
