The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) has confirmed the existence of more than 70 communities operating beyond Ukraine's borders. This figure was disclosed by the Deputy Head of the External Church Relations Department, Archpriest Mykolay Danylevych.
This was reported by the Information Department of the UOC-MP.
"At the moment, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has over 50 parishes abroad and approximately 20 pastoral missions, most of which have all the potential to become full-fledged parishes," said the Archpriest. "In total, we have over 70 larger and smaller communities abroad."
According to the Deputy Head of the External Relations Department, nearly half of these international communities of the UOC-MP are situated in Germany.
Danylevych mentioned that the establishment of parishes "is initiated by believers themselves - Ukrainian citizens who found themselves abroad due to Russian aggression, and representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora living in other countries since pre-war times.
