As part of the trip the clergymen had an opportunity to communicate with the captured Ukrainian military servicemen, and also handed them over letters from their relatives and packages of products, medicines and hygiene products. A large part of the prisoners had a confession with the Orthodox priest.
The trip was completed by the “Mission of Mercy and Reconciliation” of the UOC and is coordinated with the Ukrainian security forces, the UOC website claims.
