UOC-MP Metropolitan of Ternopil and Kremenets confirmed tested positive for COVID-19

This was announced on April 22, by the Deputy Head of the regional laboratory center Volodymyr Panychev at a meeting of the Ternopil city operational headquarters to overcome the emergency, reports Espresso citing the press service of the Ternopil City Council.

"Our colleagues in Kyiv informed us that Metropolitan Serhij is being treated at the Oleksandrivska hospital. Also, the disease has already been confirmed in 4 priests and deacons related to Pochayiv. Also, the coronavirus was found in a priest related to Pochayiv and his wife," Panychev said.

Panyichev noted that the situation with the spread of COVID-19 in Ternopil region remains complicated. There is an outbreak of infection. Among the sick are 132 health workers.

As of April 22, 471 patients with CVID-19 were registered in Ternopil region, including 31 children, seven cases were fatal.
