Prosecutors from the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office have issued an indictment in absentia against a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) from Lyman, who assisted the enemy in establishing illegal authority during the Russian occupation.

This was reported by LB.ua.

According to the investigation, in May 2022, the rector of a church in the Horlivka diocese openly supported the Russian military. When the occupiers entered the city, he allowed them to use the church premises, including the basements, where they placed their personnel, equipment, and ammunition.

Additionally, Russian military equipment was stationed in the churchyard.

After the liberation of Lyman in October 2022, the priest fled with the Russians and is currently wanted. The article stipulates a prison sentence of 10 to 12 years, with the possibility of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to 15 years and confiscation of property.
