On May 3, 2010, the day of the 20th anniversary of the repose of Patriarch Pimen, at the Dormition Cathedral of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Monastery, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow performed a memorial service for the late first hierarch.
According the webiste of the Ukrainain Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), praying at the divine service was also the head of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Volodymyr.
Thereafter, Metropolitan Volodymyr took part in the opening of the monument to Patriarch Pimen on the territory of the Arts Manufacturing Enterprise Sofrino, which was blessed by Patriarch Kirill.
During his stay in Moscow, Metropolitan Volodymyr met with the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill.
Taking part in the meeting also were Deputy Abbot of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Cave Monastery, Archbishop Pavel of Vyshhorod, and Secretary for the UOC-MP Primate Bishop Aleksander of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi.
In the course of conversation the issues of Patriarch Kirill's next visit to Ukraine were discussed.
